Sexual Health Services

We do not test for herpes or HPV (which can cause genital warts).

For people who have potentially been exposed to HIV in the previous 72 hours, we offer full PEP services with a full month of the medication provided for free. PEP should be considered if you had a condom break or you had condomless anal sex with a person of unknown HIV status or someone with a detectable HIV viral load. Oral sex or any sex with a person living with HIV with an undetectable viral load is considered very low risk.

If you think you need PEP, please call us at 415.581.1600 before coming into the clinic so that we can be sure that we can see you. If we are unable to see you, we can refer you to another clinic for PEP.

PEP should be taken as soon as possible after the potential HIV exposure. Every hour counts. Do not wait – call us right away.

Results and Treatment

If any of your STI tests come back positive, we will contact you and ask you to come back for treatment. Results are available 10 business days after your visit. Please do not come back for results before this waiting period. Individuals with negative test results are not contacted. Results of rapid HIV tests are given the same day.
